I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)E. E. Cummings When I meet someone new, there inevitably comes a point where I have to explain that I am a widow. And it never gets easier. But, I have now had this conversation so many times that I feel completely detached from…

I feel so incredibly grateful that I got to spend my birthday weekend not only with my own gorgeous family, but my late husband's family too (who I firmly consider my family anyway). It means the world to have such supportive and understanding people in my life, especially @kyrian08 who is an all round hero (sorry I got cross with you being gone so long when you were on your secret cake mission!! 😂). 🥰🥰🥰

Happy birthday to our gorgeous Nola in Wonderland!! What a fun day we had!
Ava wanted to look through the 'Daddy Box', which seemed like an appropriate thing to do today. We looked at the objects, she tried on his hat and watch, and I read her some of the beautiful messages people wrote for her at his funeral. Earlier in the week her class performed a Father's Day assembly. Ava was incredibly excited about it, and spoke about her new Daddy Kyrian and how she loves him because he's so funny. Then she came home and curled up on his lap like a cat. She made cards for both of them this year, which felt right. They might be hard for me, but I'm so so grateful that she sails through these landmark days, and for everyone who helps us through them. Sending love to anyone else who is finding today hard xxx
A terrible photo, but an amazing feeling to be standing on the sunny front step of our new home 😊 🏡
This boy is into everything, devours everything he can reach and reaches for everything in sight. He is exhausting. But my god I love him. 💙
